Synopsis: Saiva is the sole survivor of an indigenous tribe of reindeer herders, massacred by marauding soldiers. With her adopted daughter, Anja, she lives a harsh existence in the wilderness of the Arctic tundra, until one day a stranger arrives - a young man, Loki. When he collapses, Saiva, despite her fears, takes him in and the two women nurse him back to health. But when Loki and Anja then fall in love and decide to leave, Saiva secretly forms her own plans.
